Clear Peelable coating For Temporary Protection

Aquashield 4670 is water based clear Peelable coating to protect against stone chips, bug damage, abrasion and weathering while allowing a vehicle's color brilliance to show through and its design intent to be maintained. 4670 is very easy to apply strippable coating for the protection of substrates from scratching and marring and detailing flaws.4670 is useful for substrate protection during polishing, handling and long term storage. 4670 is impregnated with bright silver pigments for easy visual inspection as well as identification and is non-staining and stable to 100 degrees Celsius.

INTRODUCTION :

4670 is an easy to apply, strippable coating to protect substrates from scratching and marring. Can be applied by spraying or dipping. General Chemical's Aquashield 4670 is a clear peelalbe coating and forms water resistant when dried.

4670 strippable temporary Protective Coating which has many applications. It may also be used to protect various types of surfaces. Aquashield 4670 air-dries and also drying process can be expedited by mechanical means , leaving a tough, yet flexible coating that is easily removed from a variety of surfaces.

4670 represents the ultimate in water-based strippable coating technology. It is stabilized against brittleness and is not softened or penetrated by most water-based compounds.

APPLICATION :

Performance statements are based upon representative experience from testing throughout the United States; however, actual performance will be determined by substrate selection and preparation, exposure conditions, and maintenance of the marking.

Patch Test:

Because it is difficult to determine the type and amount of application , perform a small test first. This will determine Aquashiled 4670 effectiveness, coverage, and the approximate amount of time required for it to work.

rotective Coating Aquashield 4670 should be used as received. It is applied by spray, spinning, roll coating, or dipping. The sprayed coating dries to touch in 60 minutes or less, depending on temperature and film thickness. 4670 should be applied to form a dry film in the range of 1 to 3 mil (.001" to .003") thick. Application temperature is ambient to no lower than 50 F, as drying times will be affected.

Curing:

4670 will cure tack-free within 60 minutes after application. This is dependent upon temperature, humidity and thickness of coating. Deviations from application section will require adjustments in the curing times, as well as in the stripability parameters. Curing may be accelerated by forced drying at 110 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 to 7 minutes.

It is imperative that 4670 be thoroughly cured and dry, with no water being in the film before an attempt is made to strip the coating from the substrate.

It is recommended that temperatures of 13 degrees C - 32 degrees C (55 degrees F- 90 degrees F) should be used within one year of purchase.4670 should be stored in the original shipping container in indoor environment. Containers should be sealed until needed. Protection from freezing is necessary.

Removal:

4670 is readily removed from surfaces by peeling.
