Engineered exclusively for Aluminum, Copper, Copper alloys, Copper/Brass and Ferrous metals
INTRODUCTION :
VANISHING OIL is a MEDIUM DUTY solvent based Vanishing Lubricant designed for those applications wherein minimal oil film is permissible. This product leaves a thin imperceptible film of lubricant that facilitates a clean die release of thin sheet or roll stock. The carrier generally dries in one to four hours. Normally, cleaning is not required after using vanishing lubricant.
Vanishing oil 2240 will virtually disappear - at pre-determined intervals - thus completely eliminating need for any further cleaning, degreasing, buffing or polishing prior to shipping in many operations.2240 specifically formulated for use in roll forming and press operations on pre finished and other specialty metals.2240 is a heavy duty grade in-tended for use in severe applications. It will provide better finish when forming heavier gauge metals or tougher alloys. 2240 is recommended for galvanized aluminum strip.
Gen-Lube 2240is designed for use where a “vanishing Lubricant” is required. 2240 is a premium quality, high performance, clear, low viscosity metal working fluid. 2240 evaporates readily leaving little or no residual oils for optimum cleanliness during metal working operation, while still providing excellent release properties.
2240’s prompt evaporation characteristics results in the manufacture of clean components, which will readily accept welds, allow for adhesion of paint to processed parts and leave virtually no residue to react with other processing chemicals.
2240contains select additives to provide optimum lubricity during metal stamping and forming, resulting in extended die life. The product formulation obtains the important balance of proper lubrication during metalworking, yet “vanishes” from parts in minimal time to avoid delays in the manufacturing process, and minimizing the need for manual cleaning of components. 2240is non-corrosive and non-staining to aluminum, copper, steel and their alloys.
Vanishing oil 2240should be used in stamping operations to keep the tools cool and prevent wear.

APPLICATION :
2240is designed primarily for use in light to light to moderate duty stamping and forming operations of ferrous and aluminum, copper and other non-ferrous metals, while still finding application in some light duty operations with ferrous metals. Its unique ability to provide “thin film” lubrication, then evaporate quickly leaving no residue, makes 2240an excellent choice for applications calling for the use of a “vanishing oil”. 2240can be applied by spraying or roller coating. 2240should always be used as received.
Vanishing oil 2240can be applied straight by spraying, dipping, brushing, flooding or roller coating methods. Caution should be taken when sprayed to not exceed the permissible exposure limits to oil mist.

Note: 2240should be stored at temperatures between 65°F and 90°F to preserve its integrity. However, if residue on parts is going to be further dried in an oven, operating temperatures should be kept below 250°F to avoid decomposition.
Caution: Product contains solvent. Use mechanical ventilation and guard against open flames or other ignition sources.
